I seriously wouldn't waste my money and time on a non electronic RC !! YOU HAVE NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS! I'm speaking from experience! Electronic RC all the way !!!
Going to show this to my son. So we can both learn. Thanks.
youve gotten be one of the most clear, well spoken, non gatekeeping individuals i have ever had the pleasure of learning from. 10/10
Whoa, thank you so much! A lot of effort goes into the scripting of every video, so it's great to hear it's working haha. Hope you are enjoying the channel :-)
Excellent.. just what i needed 👍
Nice! 😀
I hose mine down and use a hairdryer to dry it off and I haven’t had any rust in a year
I’m doing it but only whatever in channel 2 works someone please help as soon as possible
If you've swapped the channels over and only the trigger is working it might be time for a new receiver :-/ That said, have you triple-checked that you haven't accidentally turned the steering D/R all the way down?
This helped sooooo much thank you !!! (I was so worried 😟) my Lipo port was very dirty
Nice! Love an easy fix.
Nice vid.
Thanks!
Hey, i recently got a hsp bl and it broke. I was just wondering if i supplied the parts would you guys be abled to fix it? Cool car though!
What did you break? They are pretty good to work on 🙂
❤❤👏👏🥰🥰
Thanks!
Hello. Is there a difference between Fully synthetic oil and Synthetic based oil? What would happen if I used mineral oil instead. All the 3 types of oil are offered by Shell in my country.
You'd have to look up an in depth video for the actual differences, but basically if an engine manufacturer specifies synthetic oil, that's what you have to use. 2-stroke engines have super-high rpms compared to 4-stroke, and if there isn't enough lubrication parts wear more rapidly and can fail, and fail more destructively.
I see, which one would you personally recommend/use Shell semi synthetic (affordable and abundant) or Castrol 2T fully synthetic (expensive and hard to get)
@@CCXR-r6p As Dad always used to say, "good oil is cheaper than a new engine".
Hi I would like your opinion on fuel brands. Would it be better to run Shell 95 or Caltex 95?
Really depends on the individual servo, but personally, Shell. Overall though it's better to go for newly built stations with less corrosion in the systems, and busier stations that get refilled more regularly. All that said - the Rovan probably won't tell the difference either way.
Great video but you washed it to remove oils from your hands just to touch it with your bare hands again

Hi Sir, what can i mod on this esc? A cant find any in4 on the website cause it was unbrand esc.
Hard to say without knowing what ESC you are referring to, the one in the car, or a different unbranded one you bought? As far as we know, there are no programming options for the ESC in the 9125.
@@HobbiesDirect Thanks Sir, so far i need a new esc and servo upgrade
@@HobbiesDirect anw…! Im about to upgrade esc hobby 1080 G2 on this XLH and using tbs nano rx (boxer tx)… will it be good choice???
Hoping you could help. Noobie here but how can you connect an FPV to your rc car and use the same antenna to one transmitter? Do you have to get a special reciver?
You would need an FPV setup (obviously), but that could be separate from the rest of your vehicle. The FPV system will have it's own receiver (in the glasses), as it's the camera on the vehicle that is doing the transmitting. For an all-in-one solution, expect a lot of custom work.
@HobbiesDirect thanks alot. Actually now I fully understand it now after alot of research. Gonna look into using an advanced flight controller called Pixhawk.
My first RC car fell victim to saltwater. On the next visit 3 years later I gave my tiny little crawler a full deep clean despite it not even touching the water.
Learning the hard way sucks - did that to a Tamiya DT-02 back in the day. But it's been rebuilt!
Jam scene was proper laugh out loud moment Cheers for that Love your work
Haha you are very welcome! :-)
I have new version of HSP camper 1/8 buggy nitro 94970 all parts is good but I already upgrade front wheel set up to alloy parts for better performance in racing.
Nice!
Thanks for the video.
You're welcome! 😀
My b3 keeps flashing and doesn'tcharge.. can it be the battery or b3 charger stuffed?
If the battery voltage is too low, the b3 won't be able to detect it and won't charge. Can you check the voltage with another device? Or use a smart charger maybe at a hobby shop?
Would I have to purchase this equipment to charge “2*7.4V 1200 mAh rechargeable Li-Po batteries” I’m new to rc and it’s overheating when I use any usb port to attempt the charge it
What is overheating, the charger or the battery? A usb charger should be easily capable of charging a 1200mah 2S pack. You could also look at something like the GT Power B3, but a smart charger is ideal for all lipo packs.
Hi Aaron, cool video that really helped me! I was wondering if we could use a fuel which has an octane rating of 98RON or higher because in my country we have Shell VPower which is 99RON and we also have 100RON. I would like to know if it is safe to run the engine with those fuels. Thanks!
A lot of those higher-octane fuels have a high ethanol content, which is not something the Rovan engine and fuel system likes; stick to regular.
I see, but my country has banned ethanol fuels to be sold in stations so my country has ethanol free gas from 95RON (regular) to 100RON. should I still go for it? I know this car needs a minimum of 91RON but I just want to try a higher octane fuel and see if it runs differently. Thanks!
@@cpmagic6454 You can try it, it won't hurt anything. But it likely won't be any better; fuel quality is more important than a higher octane rating for these engines.
@@HobbiesDirect I see, thanks so much for the reply Aaron!
@@cpmagic6454 No worries! 🙂
I agree traxxas sucks ass but I'm always repairing my buddies traxxas
Mine arrived today! But cant start it. I follow all the instructions but it doesn’t work😢😢
Oh no! Definitely have spark and doing the choke procedure properly? Get in touch with our customer service team and we'll get you sorted 🙂
Great work bro
Thanks!
Does it come with a lithium battery?
You'll need a 2S lipo and charger separately.
I am very new to the RC World. I hope that I can ask a question....I have been buying some RC vehicles and they remotes are not working. I did buy a remote control that is supposed to control vehicles. I am not finding this to be true. what remote can I buy that will control all RC's?
There isn't really one radio to rule them all, as each manufacturer uses their own programming and protocols. Radiomaster is the closest though, like this: hobbiesdirect.com.au/p/50520/radiomaster-tx16s-mk-2
Hello, my 9125 vehicle accelerates by itself and cannot be controlled. The vehicle accelerates by itself as soon as I touch the gas trigger, I cannot control the speed in any way, it does not go behind. What could be the reason?
First thing to check would be the controller itself - try blasting out the trigger potentiometer with compressed air and contact cleaner :-)
@@HobbiesDirect I completely disassembled the remote control and the car, cleaned and reassembled it, but it still didn't work. The gas potentiometer inside the remote control was broken. I fixed it by changing the place of the gas potentiometer with the steering wheel potentiometer. Thank you.
@@sonercakir3d Nice! Well done 🙂
I love your Video very simple and easy. Thank you keep up the great work your doing
Nice! Happy to help!
I have the element enduro senduro. i changed the pitch to 32 on the spur and pinion. i have the slip pads and washers for the spur. Can i run this with the same trans and if so, what other parts do i need. If not, what do i need to buy to make this run because it's not running.
As long as the gears stay roughly the same size (and therefore the ratios), and all the pads fit and stuff, the pitch doesn't change anything.
@HobbiesDirect not having a problem with pitch my problem is the it goes all the way against the housing instead of having some space like the factory one that came on it
Syc 16102 pro stock can get 50kmp and with 3s lipo you can get 80kmp, it only cost $80
Nice!
Hiya, A while back I bought an AGF A81BHMW servo for my Traxxas XRT, while I was out one day there steering went lame and very weak. Power cycled the system and it went back to normal, for a few seconds at least, decided to go home, on the way back to my car the steering magically fixed itself? I decided to fit a Castle BEC (which I was putting off for fear of doing something wrong) to get more power to the servo, hoping it was a voltage issue causing the problem (6.0 volts up to 8.4 with the BEC). Went out again and it was great for a while, then did the same thing again. Any ideas? It's not the gears, they sound fine. Other than the BEC, new fans all round, new servo, and Traxxas X-Maxx/XRT light kit, all electronics are standard Traxxas stuff.
As long as the servo is definitely getting all the volts it needs, it sounds like there might be a fault with the servo itself :-/ Does it still play up if you turn TSM all the way off?
@@HobbiesDirect Yes I think still screws around with it off. It started a while after installing the new servo, quite a few outtings, not immediately. *[edit]* Also, again, it's not all the time, it can just magically fix itself. It makes no sense. Thanks for the reply by the way.
Does this kind of battery charge with AC or DC current ?
Lipos are DC, but require a proper charger to not get overcharged and potentially explode.
If we buy a brushless motor we need to change our esc to brushless esc to and we need to have fan for the esc right?
Yep! Brushless motors need to be controlled by a brushless ESC, and there's very few ESCs out there at can do both brushless and brushed. You don't technically *need* a fan, but you do need to stop the ESC overheating. If it's not getting to hot you might get away with not having a fan, but its not recommended.
Thanks very helpful 👍
Glad it helped :-)
Could I use Tamiya plastic paint or do I have to use polycarbonate paint?
Regular paint is not flexible, so it'll flake off pretty quickly.
WD40 is great on plastics. Petroleum product on a petroleum product (Plastics ). Shines up the plastic too .
Mine won't bind?
If you are doing the procedure properly and it still won't bind, then there must be a fault with the receiver :-/
Top notch❤️🔥
Thanks!
@@HobbiesDirect Yes👏👏👏
Where is this place ?
Just outside of Geelong in Victoria, Australia :-)
I have no idea what happened to mine, I was driving it around slowly and it for some reason stopped steering does anyone know what it could be
Did you maybe bump the D/R down on your radio?
@@HobbiesDirectyes I have mine at the max and it still would not turn but it would drive forward and backward just not turn
@@HobbiesDirectI didn’t mean yes I meant no sorry😅
@@HobbiesDirect I think my servo has burned out😢 I don’t think it was the d/r because I have mine on top of my remote with a hatch to close it
@@magmagold2969 If there's no signs of life at all, then it might be time for a new servo :-/ If you plug it into channel 1 instead, you can see if it moves with the trigger. If it does, then it's likely the receiver that's the problem.
If its anything like the RC I have itll probably have some cheap plastic axles that will break easily
My problem is that my steering only works if you lift the car off the ground or the car is in motion. When it’s at a standstill, it only turns right and can’t turn left. Any ideas?
Either the servo saver is too loose, something is broken in the rack, or the gears are slipping :-/
@@HobbiesDirect Ok at least I know what to look for. Thanks!
Video was extremely helpful, thank you very much!
Glad to hear it!
My car is acellerating on its own and servo is makimg a weird sound
Sounds like the trims are off, are they set to zero?
